9a321 boots on generic hardware

Quickly following the release of build 9a321 to ADC members, a couple of people went out and did it again. Circumventing Apple's latest kernel protection (which would keep the kernel from even loading on non-Apple hardware) seemed to be a walk in the park. The next challenge after getting the kernel booting was figuring out how to extract the files from the new "flat" installer packages. Apple has kindly provided an open-source tool for doing this (xar) and the first install was under way. Early this morning, a video was posted on Youtube (guess who) showing Apple's latest achievement running on a system it was never intended for.
